"On" Radio: Def Sound x The Tomorrow- Junkie (LIVE Rock Remix)

Greetings intronet heads.
Its Def
and ummmm I have been sitting on this audio since "Something." came out
WAAAAAAAY back in May of 08
I feel its finally time 2 let the idea out the bag due to the dopeness of the shows
and the boredom of the over flooding of studio music ALL over the place
I will be one of the first on my local scene to record and release not a mixtape but a live album Titled "The Natural."
Which I plan on recording in June in a loft downtown
waaay more intimate setting wouldn't you agree??
(and yes you are invited)
But for now here's a preview of the liveness with my band The Tomorrow @ The Temple Bar (Simeon Shigg on keys, Mike on guitar, Will Hawkins on bass, Kev "Roosevelt" Moore II on drums, additional vocals by Novena Carmel, Poetic, and YG)
Please mind you this was our first performance EVER as a band together
with just one rehearsal the night before.
Somethings are just Natural
Puns intended.
Enjoy and spread the word like legs....

Rat Riot
or
http://www.ratriot.com/main/

and also a free song to download 4 your listening leisure called "Things"
its a rough draft but I was vibing to it early this a.m.
that touches on the topics that even words find hard 2 display
such as love or the lack there of, racism, the use of the N word by blacks and the influence it may hold on other races, and the birthing of a dream that may take more than 9 months but the thought of you can do it is what makes you continue to push through all the labor...Hope to get your emotions in motion
hope it helps start your day off right

Notes About "Something" Entry #3: S.A.G.

S.A.G. was a song pitched 2 me by Chuck aka Three-1-Zero
I was in the middle of filming the making of the "Something."album
(called the DEFcumentary)
about maybe 5 songs deep
So Sterling came through with the camera to Chucks crib in Northridge
and Chuck spelled it all out 4 me.
This song was gonna be like a lyrical exercise
or dress rehearsal
he said S.A.G. stands for Screen Actors Guild
so what he wanted was to take one sample (Harvey's Tune)
flip it 3 different ways on one track.
Make it just more than a song more of a production
where he would play the director I would play the actor
on the set of a song.
He said he wanted me 2 rap 3 different yet unexpectedly cliche styles
like the first verse should be street and violent
over very gritty drums
The 2nd verse should be "jiggy" and very club friendly bars
over 808's and slappy southern drums almost Three 6 Mafia steeze
Then the final verse we debated a bit about on camera
We finally settled on rapping like an extreme space traveling backpacker
who is so confusing he makes no sense (people prob. think I am already that dude)
over a very spacey reversed track.
So its really making fun of everyone and everything in rap.
I feel it was executed tastefully
and its one of my favorite joints 2 perform live with props and costume changes and all!
I wanna do a Part 2 soon
but for now
Download and experience S.A.G. right HERE

speaking of live shows please be in attendence
to the best show you might peep in this young year of ours
